Coal mining, crime, and deception were alive and well on Tiger Mountain, just a few miles south of downtown Issaquah, in the early 20th century. Honest coal miners mixed with henchmen and bunko artists to create a set of colorful stories -- which you can hear as you explore the original setting of the events.

On our Grand Ridge Mine Hike you will have the chance to explore the daily commute of miners who worked in Issaquah’s longest-lasting coal mining operation starting in 1888. The three-mile adventure will be well worth the wear on your shoes.

If you want to learn how museums take care of collections, this is a great opportunity. We need help moving boxes of textiles on days leading up to the event, as well as after. We will also need help on the Angels Day itself, which will provide our volunteers a chance to learn by working with the textile experts.
