Historic Photo Exhibit to open in Issaquah Issaquah, Wash. – The Issaquah Historical Society is will open its latest exhibit, Preserving the Images of Issaquah, on Thursday, May 13, 2004. The exhibit will be on display at the Gilman Town Hall Museum, located at 165 SE Andrews Street, from May 13th until November 13th. Museum open hours are Thursday through Saturday, 11 AM until 3 PM. Admission to the Gilman Town Hall Museum is free. The Issaquah Historical Society has been collecting photographs since it first organized in 1972. The collection now contains more than 4,000 images, and more are being donated every week. Preserving the Images of Issaquah will include one photograph from each year the organization has been in existence. The resulting selection represents a variety of subject matter and time periods. The exhibit will also illustrate some of the challenges of maintaining and preserving a large photograph collection, in addition to sharing our unique and varied images with the community. The Issaquah Historical Society wishes to thank Kinko’s of Issaquah for donating some production costs for this exhibit. We would also like to thank the City of Issaquah for their ongoing support of the Society’s work. Please contact Erica Maniez at 425/392-3500 or info@issaquahhistory.org for more information. |
