Darigold Dateline--Effective July 1st, 2006

 
As reported by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer on July 12. 2006, the Darigold Company has retired its WestFarm Foods name and reverted back to using its Corporate name "Darigold"

1890 or earlier picture of Gilman Mine

Eric Erickson submitted this photo with the following information:

"This is from 1890 "Seattle Illustrated"  an original 9" x 12" size and 75 pages soft bound booklet of which I picked up at a rummage sale for 50 cents. This is the earliest picture I have seen of the Gilman mine."

How “Greenbacks” Saved the Lives of the Bush Family

An historic document by Jack Bush, entitled How "Greenbacks" Saved The Lives of the Bush Family has been posted to our web site.

The document was kindly provided by Sue Cameron Bush, a descendants of the Bush family. It is an account of the Casto Massacre of 1864 according to Andrew Jackson “Jack” Bush, the son of James and Martha Bush. Jack Bush dictated the account to his wife Mandy Bush who passed it down to descendents.

This is an official Boehm's Candy postcard.  The text on the reverse is as follows:

Our candies are made daily in our kitchen, surrounded by the finest dairy farms of the Evergreen State of Washington.
We use only Swiss Chocolates, Fresh Cream and Butter for our famous products. They are as high as the Alps in Quality
