Volunteer Position: Docent

The Issaquah History Museums are seeking docents to assist with the upcoming busy season!

Responsibilities:  Docents at the Issaquah Depot Museum and the Gilman Town Hall Museums act as hosts and representatives of the museums, and provide a personal connection to the museum experience. Docents welcome visitors, answer basic questions, sell trolley tickets and gift shop items, and open and secure the building.

Schedule:

Issaquah Depot Museum

Saturdays & Sundays, 11 AM – 3 PM (October-April)

Saturdays & Sundays, 10:55 AM – 3:05 PM (May-September)

Gilman Town Hall Museum

Saturdays, 11 AM – 3 PM

Training:

1-2 hours of on-the-job training, followed by working one or more shifts with another volunteer.

Minimum Age:

Issaquah Depot Museum, May-September

14 and up

Issaquah Depot Museum, October-April

14-17 with a guardian

18 and up, no restrictions

Gilman Town Hall

14-17 with a guardian

18 and up, no restrictions

Commitment Level: 6 months minimum
