Drop in with your children for a hands-on art activity that invites kids to paint their own history of Issaquah. Kids will examine the colorfully engaging Bill Haddon mural that hangs in the Depot, and we'll provide the materials and guidance for them to create their version of an Issaquah Mural. Resulting art will be on display at the Issaquah Depot.

Downtown History Hike: Early Years

State militiamen in Issaquah on July 18, 1891. They were sent to Issaquah to impose order during a miners' strike, during which African-American miners were unknowingly brought in as 'scabs'.

Museum guide, Doug Bristol, will lead participants on a walk through the history of Issaquah, from the Native Americans to the present day. Advance registration is required. Participants check in at the Issaquah Depot. It will cover roughly two miles of level sidewalk and will last approximately two hours.

The Pastime

Issaquah has an interesting and colorful past of murder, mayhem, and prohibition and we want to share it with you. We will start at the historic Train Depot Museum and proceed through six of Issaquah’s downtown establishments. Each location will feature a small cocktail or appetizer and lively narratives about the people of Issaquah and times gone by. We'll finish at the Historic Shell Station.
