The museum is now open! Here, docent Ken Schmelzer (third from
left) chats with visitors about old times in the "men's

luxurious office!

The stationmaster's desk is "cluttered" with an interactive
telegraphy exhibit, and period artifacts such as Northern Pacific forms, a
manual typewriter and a candlestick phone, many of which were donated by Frank
Remington.

Some other sundry railroad depot items. Can you identify everything

The freight room is available for rent and is
ideal for meetings and special events. It is shown here decked out for the
2000 Pioneer Reunion event.

The freight room is rustic! Look for these original markings on the east wall, identifying the lumber's manufacturer as George W. Tibbetts Co., Squak
Valley, Washington Territory. Mr. Tibbetts was the most prominent
businessman in town in 1888 when the depot was constructed. The
floor in this room is also clearly original, and was simply turned up-side-down during
restoration. |
